What Makes us Different

Welcome to the African Pilgrimage Museum (APM), a pioneering institution dedicated to promoting environmental stewardship, cultural development, and preservation within Africa and globally. Founded on the principles of Sankofa, a Ghanaian word meaning “go back and fetch it,” our museum embodies the spirit of learning from the past, embracing the present, and shaping a sustainable future.

Our Programmes and initiatives include:

- Cultural curation: Collecting, preserving, and exhibiting African cultural artifacts, artworks, and historical objects that highlight the region’s rich cultural heritage and contributions to environmental sustainability.

- Art Projects: Collaborating with local and international artists to create innovative, environmentally conscious artworks that inspire and educate.

- Artist Residency Program: The Africa Pilgrimage Museum (APM) is pleased to offer an Artist Residency Program, designed to provide artists with a unique opportunity to explore the intersection of art, culture, and environmental sustainability.

-Education and outreach: Developing and implementing curricula, workshops, and training programs focused on environmental sustainability, cultural heritage, and social justice.

- Research projects: Conducting interdisciplinary research on environmental sustainability, cultural preservation, and social justice, with a focus on African perspectives and experiences.

-Field Trips: Guided field trips to cultural points of interest, historical sites and community projects.

-Passion Projects: Sundry passion projects related to the environment, culture and sanitation.

-Retreats: Immersive retreats focused on healing, restorative justice and cultural assimilation.
